Sambung

Overview

Sambung is an application that aims to help Indonesian-American youth stay connected to their ethnic roots through the means of interpersonal connection, local event discovery, and cultural media. While the principle of embracing one’s own culture is universal, I wanted to focus on Indonesians given my knowledge and observations. The identity and experience of being an Indonesian-American born in the US is very uncommon and I wanted to research what makes this experience unique and how it can be enhanced.

Due to the timeline of the school year, this project ended at its first round of prototyping and user testing. If I were to revisit this project, I would like to iterate on element design and further developing the career mentoring feature.
